Update - Brought it to my indy, he checked all of the wiring related to the tail lights, everything looked OK, replaced the 20 amp fuses with the correct 7.5 amp fuses and everything works fine.

I guess he had to do it.....

No problem at all, and I didn't seal mine.... No leaks whatsoever.

To each their own - I think these aftermarket LED tails look cheap and tacky. They look right at home with the 997.2 , but on the 996, I feel as if they are out of place.

Really.... that is an interesting comment since from my point of view the only real difference from a 996 to the 997 in the rear is the bumper cover goes under the tail light on the 996 and angles to the top of the light on a 997... other than that they are pretty much similar in design. So why would LED tail lights look better on the 997?

Thank you for the comment, David. I was at a loss for words....
I am keeping the stock pumpkin and red tail lights, just in case, but I am very happy with the "cheap and tacky" LED's.

Are you on Vortex? I miss my V10 TDI! I guess we can't talk about VW's here.

I like the look, which is really pretty subtle when not lit. Basically it freshens the fixture in a similar way that polishing the headlights does. I don't see this as a wannabe thing at all.

My smoked Amazon specials from Redline....if I remember. Plug and play, no issues, no blown fuses. Packaged very well.

Also, no water leaks....even in the high pressure car wash.

These are the best add ons for the 996. Looks great not cheap or ricey. I hate rice rockets and the like. People actually ask me if I purchased theses oem from the Porsche dealer.

I agree, these fit right in and the smoke on my Guards Red was a big update for me. They are not Altezza looking stuff and the LED looks makes a big difference updating the rear. Also, anyone can install these. Pretty simple, there is also a DIY here on how to connect the wires. Now....it did take me a little trial and error, but all is well. Also, from what I read, if you connect the extra bulb you do not need, it can blow a fuse. Search for the install tips on which one not to connect. I think it was the corner one if I remember.

I have Red/Smoked ones for sale! They're just SITTING in my garage and wasting away. Need an enthusiast to take them home and use them! Please PM me your offers. I'm negotiable.
