Replacement battery questions
Time for a battery change. Original battery on 40 th anniversary. Not dead yet but want to avoid a jump start etc...
2 questions...
1) do I need to use an external power unit to prevent the radio/nav from locking me out and thus requiring the radio code etc...
2) any recommendations on batteries? Dry cell e.g..?
Thanks....

Burning Brakes
Nav system will not need a code.
I would find a battery with a good warranty from a store/dealer that has a lot of locations.
My old 40th took a group size 48. My store will tell you it is a group size 49. That is wrong. That battery is to long. Make sure the battery you buy have the vent tube connection.

Get an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) battery and you won't have to have a vent or worry about acid corrosion

I just had my battery replaced back in the March timeframe - I went with an Interstate - I forget the model number, but it has been great - the car cranks over much faster than the previous OEM that was replaced a week after I bought my car 2 years ago. I had a foot injury and couldn't get to the storage garage place and warm the car up once in a while - so that killed the battery. Unfortunately no power in the storage unit to use a battery tender.
