Default Motor Mount Part Clarification...

Looking at the Auto Atlanta site, I noticed both sets of OEM numbers that references the turbo motor mounts and the regular non-turbo mounts both appear on the motor mounts.

I had read that the turbo mounts are stiffer but now I'm beginning to think they are the same as the non-turbo mounts. Can anyone make any sense from this?

Do you want stiffer OEM mounts? If so you want the 964 part number version which is the 'RS' motor mount. I believe there is only the 993 and 964 part numbers for the 996.

Do you install the RS mounts yet? How do you like them?

I would also be curious the difference you feel between stock and RS mounts.

The solid mounts i hear create lots of interior vibration.

Thanks

I rarely track this car so I didn't want to get the RS mounts and deal with NVH issues. I've read that the turbo mounts are in between the RS and stock non-turbo mounts but I'm trying to verify whether that is true or not. Someone on here mentioned that the turbo mounts were solid instead of liquid filled so I like some verification on that.

Can someone verify:
1. whether the pic I posted is OEM turbo mount
2. if turbo mount is any different(solid and stiffer) than non-turbo mount

TIA

I have RS mounts. There is a bit more vibration during start up when the engine is cold just like stock. You don't notice it much after the car is warm.

I just installed the turbo mounts. I'll snap a picture at lunchtime so you can see the part numbers. Pelican parts lists two different part numbers (although only different by a single digit). They also had the best prices by far (which I figured out after already ordering them).

Thanks but did you buy the OEM turbo mounts or aftermarket? I need someone to verify whether the pic I posted was a pic of an actual OEM turbo mount.

OEM Turbo

Sorry no chance at lunch to shoot the picture. It looks identical to the OEM NA mount but I have no idea if the internals are different.

If you look at the mounts, it has both numbers scribed on it and hence the confusion.
