How much time does it take: separating trans and engine
#16
An interesting thread I am following in renntech suggests the possibility that his engine from Porsche might have a large M97 bearing or perhaps larger center stud and nut.
Would be nice to know the serial number from the OP's car.
Whether it is "AT" or "X" and also "66X".

Does the shop have a tree that you can support the engine with once you drop the front mounts down? How about a tall transmission jack? If it has both of those, you can R&R that tranny easily in a day's work your first time. Make sure you have some sort of clutch alignment tool when you put the clutch back together, otherwise you will have a bear of a time getting the transaxle to mate up.
