Default Another Successful Radiator Cleaning

After reading a few treads, I decided I too should clean my radiators. Wow, there was so much junk in there. I wish I took pictures because I think my car could have been the poster child of why they should be cleaned. Anyway, my temperature needle would get past the "0" in the "180" which I would estimate to be about 205 F. Since the cleaning we have had a heat wave with temperatures in the upper 90s and yesterday it hit 100 F. Even with the insane ambient temperatures, my needle pretty much stays vertical making it about 185-190F.

It makes you feel good after seeing the amount of crud that collects in the condensers and radiators. I just felt that my Porsche was cooler and much happier after doing the same.

Good to hear. On Monday I'm pulling the bumper and doing this for the first time since I've owned the car -- and I suspect in the first time since the car rolled off the line. My temperature is ever-so slightly past the 0 in 180. I will take some pics.

I'm trying to talk myself into doing mine right now. I need to get over the fact that it's 4,608,293 degrees outside.

Gotta do mine too. My needle has been in the 200F + range a few times now on heavy traffic on this wonderful heat we got in Cali

I would think the thermostat keeps the engine temperature fairly level to a point but your rads will be more efficient if they're clean. I had no temperature issues but look what I cleaned out of mine:

Yours looks like a compost pile. That's a lot of collected debris.

The rads in the front of the 996 really are just vaccums for road debris.

here is mine mess from last year:

Probably the first time it was ever cleaned out: obviously the POs were not regulars on this forum. BTW, the brush wasn't in there ...

Everyone, please keep in mind if you don't clean between the radiator and A/C condenser, you really have not removed the main area of debris accumulation and blockage.
