I've been driving mine all winter for the past 5 years without a hardtop with no problems. In fact, if someone gave me a midnight blue hardtop today, I'd sell it. Why? Because I love putting the top down any chance I get, winter or summer, and the hardtop would cut down on my opportunities to do that. Also, the hardtop takes up too much space in the garage. The best setup I've seen is the one Dan(Edgy01) has for his 997: EZ Hardtop install See post #4.
