Default Switch TechArt to PSS9 & No more "Thunk"

So... after many trials and testing by my friends at Chris Powells shop ... the low speed Thunking in the right front was indeed a bent Strut. And now it is Gone.

Here is the Good and that Bad in this story. The Good is the service from Chris, Scotty, & JR working through this and finding the used PSS9 suspension at a great price. And Bob McCarthy at Sunset Porsche for quickly sourcing the needed OEM parts - again at great prices. And Trueline for the perfect alignment & setup.

The Bad ... is the Dude (P.O.?)- who bent this strut by whacking it with a sledge Hammer (our best guess as to how it got so mucked up)! And then there's the UN good service from TechArt. After several phone and E-mail attempts I gave up trying to source a replacement part for the bad Strut - which caused me to invest in a whole new PSS9 kit.

Bottom line I am happy again - the C4 is sitting low and handles Crisply & Plus rides much better that with the TA parts.

P.S. Anyone need a three legged Coil-over system???

Techart Uses is Bilstein Struts... You could have gotten your Bent Strut Rebuilt or Replaced for $150-$250 by Bilstein... http://www.bilsteinus.com/products/s...e/service.html

Ed - Yes the Picture is LA... in fact it is up on Mulholland Drive looking out over Hollywood. And actually JR told me they did check the corner balance and it was spot on - so they did not charge me for it - Trueline are good folks just like Chris & the boys.

Zookie - We checked with the Bilstein folks and they would not take the TeckArt strut in for repair as the damage to the Strut put them off. You are correct if you just have a bad strut insert they rebuild at a low cost. I am still going to look at getting that insert out of the suspension strut and see it it is worth while rebuilding both fronts for sale to someone. Two new inserts would have cost $1200 retail & I got the complete PSS9 for $1300 delivered. I cannot invest to much without some return $$s.
