[QUOTE=mglobe;8633577]944 that drops oil is a redundant phrase.

Isn't this a bit much? You've done your job well enough that many people are scared of their cars to the point that any noise from the engine or any rough running is "diagnosed" as an IMS bearing issue and many even here tell others to "immediately" replace the IMS bearing next chance they get, what more do you want?

You should teach Jake a lesson and not do your bearing. That'll show 'em

A couple of BMW's limped home, but all of the Porsche's survived.

You could chose not to, in a well maintained (oil changed often) car.

I ran a DE this weekend with the PCA at Roebling Road. My 996 was fine...in the garage at home. The BMW 325Ci ran like a beast though!

If I had the car since new,and could swear to the maintenance schedule, maybe I wouldn't change it. Unfortunately for most of us we bought used and have to play " catch up " as far as upgrades whether it's the brakes,wheels,seats,a/c,or the dreaded IMS. Luckily a lot of people didn't buy a p-car thinking it was an inexpensive alternative to daily transportation.

I cant agree more.. I think this is a great idea for you. When the truth is the fear.. whats a boy to do?

But yes could not agree more.. Please, just say no to any of his IMS products. I am sure you will save $1000.00 in the end.

It's at the body shop right now being pulled, and then will get a rear clip welded on. Viking and Gladwill collaborated to come up with a fix for the damaged valve cover, and the engine runs fine. While we're at it, we're doing a sunroof delete, lowering the driver's seat, and a few tricks Viking has up his sleeves. The Green Hornet will be back faster than it was before by fall. In the mean time, I'm having a blast driving Miatas. Might even race one later this summer if I can get comfortable enough in the platform.

Looking forward to the pics - if you can post them here otherwise I can send you my email address instead. We need to change the subject of the thread anyway!
