Anybody have one installed in there 996? Not necessarily Xenon, but some sort of light kit?
When I had my 2000 3 series I installed a Bimmian Light and it turned the light from that faint yellowish incandescent glow to a much classier white type of light.
Was just thinking of doing the same to the 996, but I don't want a cheesy kit I want one that is just plug and play like on the 3 series.

Thoughts? Pics?

There's 5 lights in the interior you can change....I switched mine all to LED...a few different colors to chose from also including bright white

Try superbright LED's. I replaced all of my interior lights with LED's about 8 months ago.

yep...superbrightled
3 for the center dome light....2 for the door's....2 parking lights...2 side markers and 2 license plate lights..
well worth it for 25 bucks...

I have them installed on my 996, do not have any pics...but the LED bulbs made a big difference. Look great on the license plate lights also

Pick them up on Ebay...cheap and pretty much the same most vendors sell.

the part number is from my order from superbrightled so you can go to that site and cross reference...
The interior bulbs are just like the ones for the bimmers...well if you chose the cool white one...my interior is blue LED ...all 5 of them and I can't capture it well on my camera...besides...I don't think anyone wants to see my blue interior
the top center bulb is 4410x9 festoon bulb 4410-B9 2.25
the 2 side bulbs next to the center bulb is WLEDx6 WLED-B6 0.75
the door bulbs on each side is the same WLED-B6 0.75

Rear license plate bulb....same thing...just as bright and white as the bimmer ones...
3610x4 LED festoon bulb 3610-CW4 0.95

The parking bulb and side marker is the same
WLEDx6 LED WLED-CW6 0.95
I have smoked side markers and use a cool white bulb..this may be illegal in some areas and you can get amber bulbs
The first pic is with lights off 2,3 is with lights on with garage door open
4,5 is with garage door closed....

It looks really bright in the pictures but in reality it isn't that bright....it matches the 6000k HID low beams really well
FYI the above pics are with the parking lights on only...no low beam
