I'm positive it's the hose. I see the hole in the hose.

Thanks! My coolant hose leaked in the same spot. The gravel from the road finally wore through it and created a tiny hole.

First part order came back with incorrect part. The hose has a part number of 996.106.250.53 Attached is a picture of the part. Wondering if Doug or Ryan could look up the part number for me.

Finally got the correct part and using the Airlift 550000 to assist with draining system. I have removed almost all the old coolant, not sure the amount removed but I removed all coolant hoses and drained, placed serveral vacuums on the system to get the remaining fluid. Now, the question.... Can I use an alternate coolant to refill the system? Second, with little of the original fluid left in the system, I believe there is little to no risk with mixing causing a problem. Thoughts????

You may have to replace #32 as well if you get the updated hose... I went with 996 106 250 55 and bought the compatible hard line with it. I have a 2000 c2.

What type of coolant is in it now? Pink? If so, you can use g12 or Porsche OEM coolant.. I usually stick to the same color plus I use pink g12 in all of my cars.

Take pictures of the hose on your car from underneath and post it....

Yes you can fill with something else, but I would fill and flush a couple times with fresh water to make sure the old stuff is gone or so diluted it won't matter if you mix. The only problem if you put in something that is not porsche compatible is down the road if another owner or dealer or shop doesn't know what you've put in - they are going to assume that they need to put Porsche coolant in. Which we know will gel with incompatible coolant types and break your engine in half, karate style.

I know you're working on it right now, so you've probably already made your decision.

Did you end up taking out your thermostat to boil it on your stove?

Thanks again for all the help and advice "logra". Spoke with my independant and he said using an alternate is fine just flush the system. I decided on Prestone premix and will change it in two years, like the rest of my vehicles.

I'm replacing that exact same part for the exact same leak. My failed hose looks the same. I've been also doing research on the correct part and noticed there are two different designs. Mine is the hose pictured. I'd prefer not to replace two lines if possible. I didn't see anywhere where the right part number and vendor was resolved though you said you finally got the right part. Would you mind sharing which vendor and part number solved the issue?

Will do tomorrow. That said, this part was not offered on their site. I know they welcome questions such as this and can sometimes locate parts. My primary question is if the original part is available anywhere? My understanding is that the part ending in 55 is updated with a different T-joint and requires the replacement of another hose. I figured that over three years, an optimum solution had been resolved.
