Question Need C4S Front Differential

Hi, Have a '03 C4S with a pretty bad leak on left front seal that cannot be sealed without teardown. Thus, looking for a used diff to replace the leaker.

Anybody have any leads on one?

Best,
DC4

What prevents you from just replacing the shaft seals? (Assuming that's where it's leaking from) A review of the manual doesn't look much more involved than what it will take to replace the whole unit.

Why not remove the entire front drive altogether? Better gas mileage, less weight, and no leaky parts.

I like your advice. I may go that route in the near future. If so, Ill have some parts for sale to fund my track habit.

Wouldn't you have issues with the PSM and the ECU with that? Just curious

Don't the turbo guys remove the whole unit for racing?

I removed the shaft on my C4S at one point to try it. No PSM or ECU problems.

However, with a 2WD config, an LSD in the rear would have been perfect instead of the open rear diff.

Well, the seller came through; and I bought and installed a used '02 TT front diff. Car is back to normal thank God. My indy charged 3 hours and the special fluid ($330 + $27.30!).
