Default Finally getting around to installing the seats....and of course have questions

Quite some time ago some of you may remember that I got some version of GT3 seats with the help of my (our) buddy Ed. I hope you guys understand when I say this....I need to be in the right frame of mind to do some DIY's. This is one. I decided to start on the passenger side just in case I realized I was short something. Good thing because I'm stuck. The seat brackets are GT3 brackets. The floor mount sliders are flat. The floor mount sliders that came with car are angled at the front of the motorized slider. The front threaded hole for the bolt on the floor is at a angle downward. The floor also has a hole right behind the downward hole but it is not threaded. Question is do I use the downward hole? The bolt will than be at an angle and will not sit flat. Do I need to make a alum pie shaped shim?

Excuse my mad drawing skillz....

wait I sent you sliders...I wonder if those were mounted in an older car...Kyle (who I got them from) owned an older car...GT3 floor should be the same as 996 - awe boy....sounds like I messed this up.

on the bright side if you can use your stock sliders I will buy the other sliders from you

996 and 6GT3 have the exact same mounting holes.
The front ones are angled.

Soooooo the question is can I use the sliders from motorized seats and put them on manual sliders? Can the sliders be removed from motorized seats?

thats a real head scratcher....I bet not...my thinking is the power ones have some sort of gear mechanism but I never have seen them, what's it look like on the bottom of the seat that is out? - is there any sort of "knock out" in the front of the manual slider to make it form the angle? I dont think you want to make those angle spacer things, (in the WFT pdf) doesnt look safe

from the sparco website I see that ALL sliders are the same...for all cars....

which is what you have (basicly)

the differance is there is a base mount plate that sliders mount to that is "car specific"
I am really sure on my old ones they had car spacific sliders (see pic) and I knw for a fact I didnt use any base plate....

those German Eng, I see the advantages of having the bolt screw in at an angle. But what a PIA for something so simple, they just gotta re-invent everything.

So Pete, are you still in the mood to do a seat swap? I hate it when something I assumed was straight forward becomes another delayed project, that I was 'ready' to do.

Damn German bastards!!! It took me 5 Months to get the gumption to get into this. Yesterday afternoon at 2:48 PM the light bulb came on and I yelled at my wife in a George Constanza Father's voice "LET'S DO THIS!". My light bulb dimmed about 2 hours later. But I'm focused on this and it's gettin' done.

Pete,
Sorry to hear that you are having a minor setback. I will let the real experts in here assist you, BUT, I know that you will love the seats, once you get them in! Hope you get them fitted-up shortly.

Pete - this is what I have. One pair.. I have no idea if they'll fit the recaro brackets, though... They came as spares with my car.
