Default Porsche tire valve stem and cover set

Anyone have any experience with these?

My wife bought a set for me a couple of years ago and I haven't gotten around to putting them on the car yet. I'm having new tires installed on Tuesday and wondered if they were worth installing.... are the valve caps a pain to remove?

I have them and they rule! I've moved the same set from 2 944's to my current 911.

There pretty easy to install, remove the cap soap up the stem and pull them thru from the inside. I just installed some a couple of weeks ago when I bought new wheels.

If you're talking about the caps themselves, just unscrew them like any other.

Thanks guys. Good to know. I've just had them sitting in a box for a couple of years and not paid much attention to them. I wasn't sure if the stems were just standard stems or not.

Nice to know, I'll have them installed with the new tires.

+1 these are pretty nice, look about the same as I had...the long caps cover up the stem...but your stem has to be long enough (some people have short stems)

Thanks. Normally I choose short chrome stems when I'm getting the tires replaced, but I guess these will match the color of the wheels much better.

They look fantastic. Had them on turbo twists and now on my Carrera lightweight wheels on my 996

I was alittle dissapointed the last tire mounting I got one short stem? IMO consistancy is more important then which one

these are nice on the sport design wheels.... I like the fact they cover the whole stem.

So, are the stems reusable, or do you just reuse the caps?

Thanks for the comments on the sport designs Ferd, good go know you're happy with them.

Just use the caps. The valve stems are normal ones. No need to replace perfectly good existing valve stems just to put the caps on. The cap should cover your existing valve stem just fine...total installation time from opening box to posting a pic online should be about 4.27 minutes.
