Tire reccomendations for 2003 C4S Please
Just found out I will have to replace a tire due to road damage. The current tires are 4 years old and have about 13,000 miles on them so it's probably about time to replace them anyway. Of course I will repalce all 4
Any Reccomendations on a good value tile (Kumo) and a premium tire (Michelin) would be great. I will probably lean toward the premium tires. Thanks!

Conti Sports have overall been the longest lasting performance tires I've tried (on the track too). The PZeros had awesome grip but wore out very fast. I have Bridgestone REO50a now, and I like them but they weight 5 lbs more than the pirellis - negating the effect of my hollow spoke rims

Pirelli P Zero all day long for me, i have Pilot Sports on my C4S (UK car) and will replace them with Rosso when the time comes.

Did you notice any difference with the hollow spoke rims as oppose to the standard C4S rims?.

... Not at all. The weights of my solids + PZeros were a little less than my hollow spokes + Bridgestones. I think you only save 5lbs per wheel with the hollow spokes... I never even thought to look at tire weights but if you check tire rack, it's suprising how much they vary

The Sumitomo HTR ZIII is a good tire for the money.
In premium tires, I prefer Continentals. The Pirelli P-Zeros wear out extremely fast and I don't find the handling much better than the Continentals, especially on the street.

I've got about 15,000 on my Sumis now and they still have more than 50% of the tread remaining.

I'm in the same boat. Recently got my 03 C4S and need to decide on tires.
This seems like a pretty good tire thread that has a summary of brands:

while i understand the economy of non-factory parts, it changes the character of the car. the factory boys work had to insure we have too much fun. ps2 n03 for me.
