your motor costs $15-20k to fix.... buy the oil that gives you the level of protection you are comfortable with

for me....I used Shell Helix Ultra (very very hard to find, unless you know where to look) $9/qt so a change at home will set you back $110 every 4-5k miles

Time to jump the noob again guys? Give it a freaking break!

To OP, yes it's perfectly find to run Mobil 1 for street and even moderate DE use.

Mike, calm down. Nobody has jumped the noob. Just some light humor to this point.

And to the OP so Mike doesn't have an aneurysm, not only is it good for "street and even moderate DE use" but also very good for race conditions.

His question has already been answered.

What are you talking about? Jump the noob? There has been a limited amount of good natured ribbing. That is all. Nothing personal or offensive. I was told after my first post that noobs taste like chicken. I laughed, and felt like part of the group.

I hope Aspen feels like part of the group, too.

I use Mobil 1 5W50 in the Boxster (used Red Line 5W40 very successfully for 3 years too).
I use Mobil 1 20W50 V-Twin in the 993 Turbo.

I do Blackstone Labs used oil analysis at every change (5,000 mile interval or yearly). This is the key to learning how your oil is performing.
