Default Carrera emblem

I'm sure this question won't be too obscure for this elite group. :-)

I was recently rear ended and when the body shop replaced the new Carrera emblem, the top of the "C" is not sticking to the rear deck -- see attached photos. It looks like the surface may be too curved for the emblem to sit straight, but it stuck fine before the accident. Can you tell me what is wrong? Thanks.

Emblem tape is: missing, dirty, still covered, replacement emblem needs to be slightly pre-bent (speculation), they waxed the new paint before applying the emblem, ...etc.

Have the shop fix it before it gets broken off.

Was a thread a while ago...
It's the wrong one, there are to different parts for either the upper or lower section of the lid.

Try: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=74358

Cheers,
Robert

Or put a small piece of automotive double sided tape in the groove underneath and press!

I just washed my 03 and realized that the Carrera is mounted lower than yours.
Searched around Rennlist and found Wings & Wheels threaad that robert r refers to above.

There are two listed one for Higher mount and one for lower. Who da thunk it???
PN 996 559 237 06 - logo carrera rear lid upper
PN 996 559 237 09 - logo carrera rear lid lower

I had the same exact issue when I ordered the "Carrera" emblem for my factory non-emblem equipped car. When I installed mine, it was fairly cold out. I believe that had I installed it when it was warmer or took a hair dryer to it, that it would have stuck down. Also, I didn't remove any prior wax which I'm sure added to the issue...

Close....

The Mk1, high mount emblem is flatter and the Mk2 low mount emblem has the 'C' raised to fit the slight ridge above the bumper.

Pelican only lists the 'low mount' emblem for all years, Sunset has all of them.
