Default Oil Change in Houston

I will be driving to Houston on the 27th and will need an oil change. Any suggestions for a Dealer/Shop on the West side?

Yes I know ... first post, no car photo, burn him at the stake. Have a little sympathy for a geezer stuck out here dry windy West Texas.

Thanks!
Max

Stop off and buy some oil and change it yourself, spend the left overs on beer...

I use Motorwerks. I recommend them. http://www.mwhouston.com/

I have used Momentum Porsche in the past. For an oil change you can probably use them, but I no longer frequent them, and do not recommend you use them.

Porsche West Houston is also out there, but I have no info on them personally.

+1. They are great and very reasonable. Plus, there is always some nice iron to stare at while you wait.

No recommendations for oil changing (other than if you can do it yourself you ought to consider it).

But that dry windy west Texas comment caught my eye. One of the most windiest sections of any road trip I've taken anywhere was from around between Abilene TX on I-20 west to where it meets up with I-10.

At the outset the wind was blowing real hard from the south and south east and it was hot. And dusty. Several places the freeway up ahead looked like it was covered with muddy brown water but it proved to be a river of dust and sand blowing across the road. Thankfully while these were quite thick they were not very wide.

As I got closer to where I-20 and I-10 came together the wind direction changed almost 180 degs and the temp started dropping. Fast. At some point the rain started coming down. In buckets.

By the time I reached I-10 and a few miles beyond and stopped for gas when I pulled out after a fillup large soft snow flakes were falling. These didn't last very long and a few miles further west towards El Paso they were gone, the weather was dry again but still cold. And windy.

Windy west Texas... Oh yeah. But you have 80mph (and maybe 85mph soon) day time speed limits to take your mind off the wind.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Porsche West Houston is very good for service. You'll pay dealer prices, but they will do the job right. And they are as the name implies, on the west side of town.

When I used to live in Houston I would get my oil changed at Treasures or Baby O's, always a nice break from West Texas.

Thanks for the info on Motorwerks. I will give them a call. Yes I know I should change it myself. Little hard to do in the midst of a trip.

Macster - Glad you enjoyed your trek through West Texas. It has been a bit wild lately. Saturday the outside temp indicated 97 degrees. This morning it is 35. Our tomato plants and my wife's turtles (don't ask) are so confused. I live in Midland where we have recorded .11 inches of rain since early October. This lack of moisture has coupled nicely with a lot of wind. It is so dry the fields are ready to explode into flame. Several huge fires. One is still burning out close to the I-10/ I-20 junction. It has burned nearly 400,000 acres. Over 1,000,000 acres have burned this Spring across Texas. Us oldtimers are reminded of the drought during our childhood.

Thanks to everyone for all the good information. After sufficient penance I will get a photo or two up.

Max
