Default Update on my 996

Great news, my extended warranty company (CNA) has agreed to replace my engine with a new crate engine from Porsche. Although the reason for coolant mixing with my oil may never be fully known, I'm very pleased with the outcome of this issue. This is the reason you purchase an extended warranty when you buy a used sports car. I'd like to thank Foreign car Italia of Greensboro, CNA Company for all they have done to help me with what could have been a nightmare. Also thanks to you Porshe owners in suggesting that anyone considering purchasing a used Porsche spend the extra money and purchase an extended warranty. In the long run it was a small price to pay for this great outcome. The engine should arrive by next tuesday and maybe by the end of next week, I'll be back driving.

NEW CRATE......or Factory Remanufactured Crate?

When I was asking around before, I was hearing you couldn't even get a NEW 996 engine anymore...but I wasn't looking that hard

That's awesome news man, congrats!

Congratulations.

I had similar feeling when I was getting brand new transmission. Now I continue care free driving having over 3 more years to enjoy the warranty.

For most of the things out there it make good economic sense to self insure but modern Porsche is NOT one of these.
