Exhaust hack for 2003 996 C2-which one?
I wish to do this mod on my 996 but there seems to be two versions. #1 connects between the inlet/outlet, and #2 connects the third plug opened to the outlet. Which is correct or any +/- to either?
Thanks
Thanks

I have the mod#2, I really like it, plenty loud enough at wide open throttle.
I think mod#1 is louder, not sure it is needed. I think you can't go wrong either way, about the sound.
But I think the mod#2 is easier to do. I mean you can't mess up the alignment of the new pipe. while for mod#1, you could put it at the wrong place and could be a problem to fit under the fender.
Reader what FisterD had to say, the mod#1 is best on older muffler, and mod#2 better on newer muffler (the one with the little accordion on them)

You won't be unhappy with Fister if you choose to do that mod. The price is right too, and you can have Fister do all the work for you.

I was driving on I-70 at lunch time today thinking about how great my 996 with Fister mufflers sounded... and then I ended up side by side with a 997 GT3RS. My 996 sounded tame in comparison!
Aside from buying a GT3RS, it's hard to beat the Fister sound...

+1 for Fisters....I don't think anyone has ever said a bad thing about the choice.........it is always, always nothing but positive feedback. Darin is great to work with and his work is simply outstanding. Maybe you should see if someone in you immediate area has done it......you will love the sound/mod!

+1 on the Fisters. I got #2 and lovin' it.
Tim, I'm workin' on Olson mod for Honda mufflers....hold on. I'm shooting for a whistle thru cotton kind of sound.
What do you think?

Thanks for the information. FisterD it is. I am trying to score a set of mufflers to send for the mod as he is currently out of cores and 3000 miles away.

Not to confuse things here, but be careful when referring to mod #1 and mod #2 when you talk with Darin (Fister).
In this thread mod # 1 is intake to outlet and mod # 2 is sealed end to outlet.
Darin's mods are reversed, number wise. His #1 is sealed end to outlet and his #2 is intake to outlet.
Just mentioning this so you don't end up with the wrong mod.
