Default SAI with a high whining noise after moving it around

It sounds better now but the past week, the sound was unbearable. I forgot to hook up the large hose for the first week after making room while installing the RS engine mounts. This week, I hooked it up and it is making this high pitched whining sound during the first start of the day when the pump is on. It is getting better but is there anything I should be aware of?

All the SAI threads are about codes popping up. I don't have codes or CEL.

hmmmm.... give it time, maybe it is that way because it ran without a load on it. Hopefully it goes away.... Mine has a high pitch whine then the pump stops. Sounds normal to me. BTW I noticed there isnt a clamp on your hose.... it creates positive pressure so maybe it blew off. Id put a clamp on it just in case.

I took mine apart and gave it a good cleaning without a whole lot of improvement. Not long after I had my AOS go on me. I'm wondering if a leak at the AOS may cause additional stress on the SAI pump causing the noise. Since repairing the AOS I don't seem to have much noise from the SAI any more. Nothing definitive, but something for you to consider.

There may be all kinds of crap in there creating havoc since I ran a week without covering that connection. I will have to look into cleaning it. It has gotten quieter this week.

How do you like the RS mounts?

There are a few different options when your mounts need replacing. RS mounts are one level above solid mounts which is only good for track cars. You feel the engine in your seat. Shifter is more precise and you feel more connected to the car because the vibration dampening is taken away.

My PSS9s are set to full stiff and sway bars are set one back from full stiff in the rear and it handles like its on rails. However, it is only good for traveling over nice roads. You will feel every imperfection on any road. My Pcar is no longer a DD and I never intended to have it as that.

I would recommend a compromise if you want something harder than stock like a turbo engine mount instead of something as hard as a RS mount for your DD.
