Default Anyone just enjoy them as they are?

Mawgie Newbie here. My '02 996 Coupe (my first PCar) is just coming out of storage. I am jacking around with a self storage unit 3 miles away until a 14' x 24' detached garage gets built next to the house sometime in the next 60 days.

I just now bothered to input the radio code and fiddle with the stereo for the first time. I found it quaint, old school, and it has decent FM reception. As for the garage door opener, I found an old Craftsman learning opener in a drawer, fiddled for a while, got it trained, and clipped it to the visor.

I think I'm good. Mine's a good, clean, very well maintained, strong running driver, not rough, and not concours.

I am curious. Is there a population of 996 Carrera owners that, like me, sorta like them old school? I have newer cars with bluetooth, sat radio, dual zone climate control, nav, etc....., but bought this one to enjoy operating the motor vehicle.

Regards - Mawgie

p.s. Obviously, if I had lots more dough, I'd be in a GT3 or a 997 Turbo. Or maybe a 993 twin turbo.........................

I have a garage door opener and the stock Becker 220. I'm really not much of a electronic wiz....besides I never have the radio on. The mods I have done are more driving performance things. Favorite so far is the yellow headlight film. Its good for at least 15HP!

Mine's Amish as well. No mods. Just as God made it, or how I bought it anyway.

Really like and tempted by many of the great mods a lot of the guys on the board have made. But I have limited time, resources and interest in going any faster. It's fast enough.

I kept my old one stock....till I accidently slipped and then it was GAME OVER - I couldn't make money fast enough to keep up with my list....

thankfully my new car never had to wait, I was ready to mod from day one

I like my 2003 C4 Cab stock too, and do my best to keep it looking good.

The only thing I have done recently is order new Lloyd floor mats, which for about $80, gives the car a newer look when getting into it.

Other than aloominium gauge trim rings and clear corners I'm bone stock.

But if my driveway was flatter I would lower the car to European ride height.

I kept mine bone stock for a while. But, my ever-increasing passion for DEs and track time have led me to the following mods:

- Clear Bra
- Fister D exhaust
- ROW M030 suspension
- H&R Sway Bars
- Euro GT3 Seats
- Schroth 6-point harnesses
- Tequipment Roll Bar
- SRP black anodized pedals

But, I still have my Becker stereo and my pumpkins! That counts for something, I hope.

Enjoy!
Bob

+1, I am very **** when it comes to this topic for some reason.

Although I would like to swap the stock suspension for the ROW M030 when I get the time. Problem is, I never get the time.

After all, it is still factory Porsche equipment.

Mine is pretty much stock with the options it came with. I only swapped out the stereo and added an Fabspeed intake. As far as the interior and exterior....no real reason to mess with perfection. The 911 is classic. My car came with twist rims but the owner before me swapped them out. I went by the option code and got the 18" twists back on...but a aftermarket version to me looks better but still stock.

Other than that...everything is stock. Besides swapping out the fog light bulbs for yellow Nokya fogs that I love the heck out of.

Stock is the only way to go: Mine is stock except for a few minor things:
LWF, SSK, Stage 2A UMW turbos, FPR, Tighter suspension, and just a few other little things.

Call me crazy, but I don't think you can call your car stock... Turbos

What suspension are you running?

front corner markers - they come in "amber" color, many people replace with clear or smoked
