Default Leasing a PREOWNED Porsche

It seems Porsche finance will lease a preowned if CPO and under 5 years old. Anyone have any first hand exp with this? I would think the numbers would work out pretty well with the major depreciation having happened in the first 24 months. Unless they put an artificially low residual on it, the numbers should work pretty well. Might put me in a 2 or 3 year old car vs a 6 or 7 yrd old car. I tend to change toys every few years so it might make sense????

might... or it might be more expensive then new. All depends on their residual and the money factor.

IIRC most Porsche leases only allow 5k miles per year @ 3 year lease. Something to consider as well since the over mileage charge is $0.30 per mile.

I would eat the whole 3 year allotment in 8-10 months! Maybe I'm an outlier as I can't afford an additional DD and my wife DD's our Xterra. On the other hand, not sure I'd want to because I'm having too much fun using my p-car everyday instead of letting it sit to control miles.

Give us the numbers and maybe someone can crunch them and give you a solid answer.

I don't know if this can be helpful or not but PenFed.com has auto loans at 2.9%. That could generate a payment low enough to compete with lease.

I just financed my new ride with them, easy transaction and you do NOT have to be government employee to use them.

From what I was told, the residual on a used lease is a fixed number, not a percentage of MSRP. I was told they can be more expensive than leasing new, although that could have been a line of bull.
If you think about it, Porsche would not want a car back that's 6 years old with 70k miles on it, too old to CPO again.
The post about most leases from Porsche only allowing 5k/yr is not true. You can do anything up to 15k/yr, just changes the residual. I do see alot of advertised lease deals that are 5k on dealer's websites though.

Porsche does offer 12k and 15k leases. The dealer seems pretty tight lipped on what the residual is.

I figured the annual mileage increases were available at a price. I was going off offers I get in the mail from my dealer. Lease vs own is definitely a personal preference, I just don't like the car company telling me what I can & can not do beyond warranty related items

Nothing worse that a great car sitting because a mileage contract is maxed out. Good luck & hope you get a great deal and exciting vehicle!

update, talked to the dealer on an 06 cpo they had in stock. asking 49k 3 year lease 12k miles would be about 625 per month with a couple bucks down. The residuals are a bit low but works well if there is a chance you would want to buyout and keep the car.
