I am going to replace my brake pad with stock pads. What other parts MUST I replace during the process?
I might need new sensors because I have one that come on this weekend a couple of time but not it is off???
Damper reuse or replace?
Spring kit parts reuse or replace?
Car has 67k miles
Thanks for you help.

Porsche offers (did the last time I did brakes) a brake hardware kit that includes all the new parts, and each kit covers one axle. Oh, the wear sensors are not included. These have to be bought separate.
I do not recall the prices but they were not high. And I value my life a bit more than the few bucks *not* replacing these items saves me.
Sincerely,
Macster.

If everything else checks out just change the pads. TRT41 here taught me how to spray a little brake cleaner on the parts and I stick the pins in my drill with brake cleaner and spin them over steal wool to make them easily slide in and out.

Instead of replacing all four sensors, I only replaced the passenger side front. My logic is that if one corner is low, the others will be also. The pads are totally visible through the wheels anyway so the sensors are kind of redundant.
For the corners where I did not replace the sensors, I cut the wires at the plug and crimped them together so the computer thinks the senor is still in place and whole.

At a minimum you can eyeball your brake pads with a small flashlight through slots in the wheels while on the car. I would not waste money on sensors unless you're my wife who would never think twice about car maintanance.

In my opinion the sensors are the most frustrating part of brake pad replacement. They don't seem to want to stay put when installing the new pads.

What's the best way to kill off the sensors without tripping warning lights? They really don't belong on a performance car!

Well , I finally replaced my pads. I would order the dampers next time. Cleaning them was the biggest pain in the a$$. Once they were clean everything else it a piece of cake. I reused all part but the pads. Front sensor and rear sensors were still good and came out pretty easy. I did have to use a small metal putty knife to separate the dampers from the pads but the was very easy too.
I applied some CRC disc break quiet to the back of the pads and so far so good.
Overall a very easy job.
