I just bought an Escort 9500IX. It really like the way that it works, except for the stupid purple led display. I can't read the damn thing. I thought about using the Blendmount, except for the high cost - $90. Whew!!! I went by my local Best Buy Mobile Installation, and the guy showed me something that uses a mount suction cup like on the Garmin GPS. That works nicely for $23.

On top of that, the Escort 9500 IX clearly states that you need to be able to see the sky with the top of the RD. If you use the Blendmount, you will have the RD mounted more INTO the cockpit of the car, and I wonder if you won't be blocking the satellite viewing of the RD.

Here are a couple of pictures of my car's mount. Note that I have the GPS mounted just above the dash, and the RD mounted high, but front of the mirror. The PO had already hardwired a cable for the RD - Thanks, whoever you are.

That's a nice display. Wish I had that when the LEO said, "I see you have a V1." (Fortunately things worked out for that one).

A friend of mine had his done at River Oaks Car Stereo in Houston. The indicators are in the instrument cluster (kooks OEM) and the detector is mounted behind the front bumper cover. This is on a 750i. They said they have done 996s so I'm going over there as soon as I decide on the new audio/ nav unit to install.

I'll post the pics when I have it done. Will be later this month.
