Came home from 2 weeks holidays during which oil companies have used Libya as an excuse to skyrocket prices to 1.35 a liter (that's over 5.50/gallon!!)
The 996 is still sleeping but I filled up the empty Cayenne last night to the tune of $129.00 !!!!!
I need a second job!

NO POLITICS IN THE TECH FORUMS.

And I am pretty sure Macsters comment was sarcastic.

What the OP isn't saying is that he (and I) live in Vancouver British Columbia where the additional taxes etc have pushed gas prices to $1.31 per litre for regular and...well I don't even know what the price is for premium in ton because I've been filling up in the US for some time now. I assume it's around $1.43 for premium.

At $1.31 per litre we're paying $4.95 per gallon. At $1.43 we're paying $5.41!

Holy smokes!

When I opened this thread, I was thinking, "Ha! It was $4.08/gallon this morning!" But, my heart goes out to the Canadian folk. (And more so to the Europeans... And, while we're on the subject, the Japanese...)

All in all, most of us have nothing to complain about.

I spent the first 26 years of my life in Canada.

I still laugh at the price of gas in the USA. Even at $3.50 per gallon it's still lower than I'm psychologically used to gearing myself up for when I fill up.

Ditto, I paid equivalent to $130 to fill up the 996 the other day.

UK prices are just ridiculous, I'd love to be paying what you US guys are paying...

You know, these prices are all a matter of perspective. While I was growing up, gas in Wisconsin was $.25/gal. I would pull into the gas station, ask for a "dollars worth." And the guy would give me 4 gallons of gas, clean the windshield, check the tire pressure and the oil. I ended up with enough gas to burn off all weekend - for only a buck.

Boy, those days are long gone!!!

The 996 is my "high efficiency" vehicle I don't really mind how much it costs as long as we don't start rationing again.
