Aftermarket being BMW? Perhaps one from a different BMW may work...

Is there a part # on the Porsche part?

Yes, the aftermarket part was BMW. It's possible another BMW guibo may work. But I already had the new cardan shaft on hand and needed to get my car back on the road.

I didn't see a part # on the Porsche part.

My mechanic already ordered the BMW guibo and will look into adapting it for the 996TT shaft. I'll give feedback here as soon as I have news.

Sorry, nothing positive to report, according to my mechanic it doesn't fit, the holes are off spec. He did recommend me a 2WD conversion instead of buying a new shaft ;-).

I wish there were an index of all guibos so that we could find one that fits...I d'ont fancy spending 600$ on a new shaft when I just need a flex disc

Sorry to hear that. Yes, an index of guibos would be nice. I think I paid $490 for my cardan shaft through Sunset Porsche 800-346-0182. Good luck with the 2WD conversion. I've heard several people doing that.

I paid like 60 bucks for the guibo on ebay (made in japan) and DIYd. Takes couple of hours.

I got the proper part from KOperformance.com for $75 2 years ago. I found out that they carried the part on this forum. Searching works.

Resurrecting this thread....

I am replacing mine in the next day or so. 2003 C4S with 85k miles. I've got a increasing driveline vibration that's constant, this flex disk seems to be the culprit.
I'm looking for photos or information from those who have done this. What's involved, location exactly etc etc.

Thanks in advance.

I found these instructions over in Rentech from JEFF IN PA "Not overly complicated; remove the plastic underbody shields, support the transmission and remove the trans mount support bolts. Remove the trans support metal brace. At this point you should be able to see the driveshaft flex disc, remove the bolts in the disc and pull the driveshaft out while putting something under the front diff to catch any oil that may drip."
