Default Quick brake pad/rotor cost estimate . . .

Any guess what a Porsche dealer might want to replace all 4 rotors and brake pads on a 2003 C4S? Thanks!

I did brakes and rotors about a year ago. I don't remember what the total was, but I think it was $1200 or $1500 ~ish for parts (very good pads, new rotors all around, new caliper bolts and SRF brake fluid). I imagine the dealer would charge you for 6 hours labor or so.

you can get all the parts from Suncoast for $960.00 plus shipping... Don't pay someone else to do your brake jobs.

I was fearful of doing my brakes pads/rotors until I saw a vid by Van. Suncoast my parts source. This truly is a slam dunk it is so easy.....plus if you do it yourself the sense of accomplishment + the money saved = BIG SMILE!

Jon996:
Heed the advice! I am mechanically inclined but executionally challenged....replacing the parts is not that difficult, watch the DIY's and you will be able to do it. Hopefully, you can avoid laying on the cold concrete floor and check for a coupon drop. I found once from my local stealer and was able to save 20% on OEM parts (rotors), well worth it, should you go that route. Suncoast might be even less expensive so might want to double check them too.

You should save the money and DIY plus its a great excuse to buy some tools in case you don't have them

Jon,
If you can do it yourself, check out Sunset Porsche too. I just did it and they gave me a great price plus a PCA member discount. Very helpful folks.

I'll take the minority position here -- cost me $1300 at the dealer last year. I was born with two X chromosomes in this respect. I'm going to farm it out to someone who has done it a few (hundred) times. Frankly, I don't want to ride in any car that I've done the brakes on. I like to stop!

Vans You Tube video's are awesome and simplifies the whole process. Do buy OEM pads if you want to use the brake wear sensors, I bought EBC pads and they did not have the holes for the sensors.

I will say DIY is fun but it does come down to what you want to do with your spare time. I like to do some of the maintenance myself but when time is limited I'll opt for a local shop to do it.
