GT Key programming- didn't come with code tag...
One of my keys is bad- so I ordered a Carrera GT key (with the guts) from a dealer. It didn't come with the tag that has the 24 digit code on it for programming...
Do these Carrera GT keys not come with the tag, or is this a one off issue?
Any way to determine the code without the tag?

I would assume that this is an error on the dealer's part- I did read about someone else's GT key not coming with the code tag...
Can anyone confirm that they've bought a GT key that had the key code tag?

You need to talk to that "dealer" about that!

Take it back to the dealer!!
Ask them if there is no tag with the code how are THEY going to program it.

I called Sunset, they told me that the Carrera GT uses a different programming procedure than the 996 cars, so their keys don't come with key tags.
Can anyone confirm their Carrera GT key came with a code tag attached?

why did you get the CGT key for the 996?....
If you like the head of the CGT, you can buy just that seperately.

I bought the key head, not the blade. That's my intention, I like the CGT key head, and I have one bad key, so I wanted to program the CGT key to work on my car...

The CGT key head always come with a code.
In fact, the CGT used the same alarm system as the 996/986.
