Having a Silver car, I had no need for a random orbital. It looks like I'll have to go in that direction. Is it possible to accomplish the same result using pure elbow grease? No problem spending the money, just wondering if hand polishing offers more control and a "muscle-building opportunity."

 

Very difficult to get swirls out by hand...fact is a random orbital will do a good, not great job (when looked at closely under intense light)...
