The blue metal flake arena red.
Notice how the lighting makes the car red.
Maybe talk to the kid and have him walk around a dealership and actually see some of the colors on cars. I tend to like this color and my favorite used to be couple or few others colors along the way.
If he does get his color tell him he has to take a detailing class on washing and waxing and its his job every weekend or when ever hehehe.

+1 on having your son learn good detailing techniques! Good skills to have (and a nice looking car is even more rewarding).

midnight blue, you can see the purple or violet tones depending on the light.a little difficult to keep perfect, but worth it.dark colors show a lot of imperfections!

Midnight Blue - can look lighter depending on the lighting and viewing angle.

Iris blue pearl and Cobalt both look WOW!!

Lapis is nice in person as is midnight, both hard to photo..

on a side note: dont know that I have seen Van's car - sweet !! (though you might have that black spot on top of your head looked at, seem to be overtaking your hair line )

Not a 996,, but it's definitely blue!

It's Unobtainium Blue. AKA Riviera Blue. This is strictly a PTS (paint to sample) color these days. (custom color) You won't find a 996 in this color, at least I've never seen one. Just showing possibilities. That and I always jump in when I see a BLUE thread.

Good luck with your search. Hope you end up with a blue beauty!

WOW!! Reminds me of the crystal clear turquoise ocean around the Bahamas

Maybe I miss labeled the thread - it should have read "Pictures of Blue Porsches." THEY ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL CARS

Keep the pictures coming - I am loving this
