I looked at it and it looks like a nice car and drives well. It does need new tires, a new front air dam lower trim, and valve cover gaskets. They wouldn't come off the price.

M96/M97 engines don't have valve cover gaskets. The head and the covers fit together with a sealant, but no gasket. Often times a leaking spark plug tube, cam advance mechanism can be mistaken for a vlave cover leak. Non of these are hard to fix.

Get a PPI from a qualified Porsche mechanic or dealer. Well worth the money.

it depends on your liking. If you want to buy it have them take it to porsche and do an inspection.

The local Porsche dealers have stopped doing PPI's so that's out. While I had it out for a test drive I took it by a friend's shop and had it looked over including putting it on a lift and having them drive it.

The dealer did say they would check for fault codes and over rev so I would do that.

It's more than I wanted to spend but it does have some nice options that make the price look better.

Plus, my wife said the price didn't sound too bad

I love mine. Porsche North Houston and Momentum should still do PPI. If not get Motorwerks or Drive Source to do one.
Only options for this car were Nav, seats, & PSE (that I remember). Ask about luggage and get 2 keys. Make sure both keys work and work with memory seats. Check for tool kit behind the spare. Plus you should get all the books if it was a one owner car.
Have fun and enjoy.

No luggage and I noticed the seat backs are not silver. Does that mean they're not the stock seats?

They all came with luggage but the silver back seats were optional. Mine didn't have them and I just bought a gt3 seat for the driver's side...the "comfort seats" like this one are comfortable but really unsupportive if you do track events.

I don't like that it leaks oil. A car this new and low mileage should be totally dry.

I like mine a lot but wish I had gotten luggage. The luggage is worth about $1000 and if it was truly one owner that means that either the original owners kept the luggage, or more likely the dealer stole it and sold it on ebay, which I believe is what happened to mine since I called the first owners and asked them about it.

The plastic valences aren't too expensive but I guess they hit a few curbs. At $37k I would definitely pass. I bought mine at a lot less than that at $42k and it didn't leak oil and had NAV with CD changer.

Check the window and sunroof operation as well as CD changer operation. Those are all things that you can talk them down on if they don't work well. Also see if they will put new tires on it for you.

I will say that it looks very clean. Hopefully they didn't just polish it down to the very last bit of paint. Maybe get a pro detailer to check it with a paint depth pen.

Could be nice - as long as any repairs identified by the PPI are taken care of or factored into the price. 40th Anniversary models are gorgeous.

Non-painted seats mean you have the sport comfort memory seats. Front spoiler runs $150ish with shipping or tax depending where you buy it from. Takes all of 10 min to replace it. Two screws if a I remember correctly. Check rims for curb rash. They are not cheaper to replace and you can't find good used ones anywhere. I have only seen 2 other 40ths here in Houston. One didnt have factory rims and the other was for sale at Monument this summer.
As Doug said the oil leak could be a very simple fix. Mind had a leaking spark plug tube. If you get a PPI they should be able to tell you where it is coming from.
