I think the market spoke on that car when the bidding ended at $22K which is just about right for a low milage car. MUST have a PPI!!! Lots of mine traps on these cars.

I would not buy a 964 C4. That all wheel drive system can be a very expensive nightmare to repair... and parts wear out. It is not nicknamed "Sputnik" because it is simple and poplar.

Why would you need a C4 cab? The concept seems at cross-purposes.

I'd also want to see these supposedly 'rare' wheels listed on the option code listing for the car. I've never seen those on a Carrera. They came stock or as an option on some 1980s 928s and 944 turbos. The 964 had 16" Design 90s as stock with later year upgrades available to 17" C2 or Cup wheels. IMO the wheels on this car are about the ugliest things Porsche installed.

Then tell him not to buy the car and distance yourself from his Porsche buying process.

Besides he'll never learn if someone always his thinking for him and then receives all the blame if the results are a disaster.

Sincerely,

Macster.

^^^This.

If anyone ever asks me what car to buy, they all get the same answer: Honda Accord. Anything else is asking for trouble on your part.

How old is your cousin?
What does he plan to do with the car? (weekends only or daily driver)
Why does he (or you) care what his parents think about his choice of car?

I own a '93 C2 Cabrio and you better have a complete PPI with a leak down test. In addition, better make sure the car is completely reviewed for any kind of leaks, with includes gas smells in the front trunk, oil leaks anywhere from the front right panel to rear panel and engine, and water leaks. Also, remember this car is 20+ years old and all of the rubber will be rotted. So, unless it has constant maintenance, it will need a lot of work if he plans on driving it and wants it to reliable.

964 are good cars and a C4 is even better. My track buddy is on his 3rd 964 C4. He just bought a widebody. Like all Pcars they all have their issues but maintenance is key. Looks like a great car but high dollars for what the car is.

Sacrilege for talking about a wind sucker here......relax all Pcars are awesome! Except for the 924's.

easy on the wind sucker comments
LOL

I have a buddy with a 924, one with a 914 and a couple with 928's - to honest they are all great and they all suck - something about cars, they need fixing and stuff

I like the idea of getting as far away from this deal as you can, tell him P-cars are only for old balding men, and then never speak to him again
