Default Interior dents

Hi all,

I noticed two dents on the glove compartment today in our 996 C2 cab. Don't know what caused it, the car is used for 'every day use' so it could be anything.

Can such dents in the leather parts be repaired ? We have some similar dents around where the windscreen is mounted...

What is a 'glove compartment'? My 99 C4 no gots...

Can you remove the 'skin' and put some padding behind it? Maybe the dense foam that was used decided to have a memory and stay that way whatever caused it. Guessing..

Mine has like a "puncture" or small dent in the padding where a glove compartment would be if I had one so I'm interested in this too. It's no big deal but my eye is drawn to it.

Glove compartment? This must be one of those fancy options like "cup holder" that is just another high-tech gizmo with a high degree of failure.

Do you have full leather, or is it plastic?

You can try putting a lot of leather coditioner on it and letting it soak in. Can take several applications. You can also try light heat from a hair dryer. Both only work if it is just the leather that is dented.

It is all leather.

[Function12] Thanks for the advice, it is worth a try.

Here is a pic. I guess it is hard to tell from a pic, but it is actually worse than what the pic make it look like.

Wife did it with pocketbook, high heels.
Kid did it with hockey stick.
Golf Clubs in front seat.
Case of wine in front seat.

Take your pick!

I prefer the "high heels" reason.

You might want to take it a auto upholstery place for an opinion.

My passenger seat had an impression in the leather from my skis last season when I ended the ski season, from the bindings. I used a leather treatment and a hair dryer on low and it worked for me.
