Default 997 SSK

SOLD ******** Thanks everyone.

I had a 997 Short Shift Kit in my 2005 6GT3 for 2 months before I switched to the Cup Shifter and cables. What would be a fair asking price? Part number 997 424 983 00.

Thanks

where did you get your 'Cup Shifter and cable' and for how much
that must give quite a strong feel...any worth for the street you think or too tough ?

I paid $542.83 for the Cup Shifter at TRG.
The Cup Cables were $486.37
Shipping was $14.64
Installation was $466.33

So for $1510.17 you can upgrade to the Cup.

The Cup is much easier to shift into any gear but that also brings the "money shift" into play.
It reminds me of a bolt action on a rifle.

The cables are much stiffer and more durable. Less likely to break down from the stresses of the track.

I would not suggest it for a street ride. The added noise it introduces into the cabin can be annoying if you are not wearing a helmet. That's just me, my friends think it sounds more like a race car with all the added chatter. It also adds a faint supecharger like whine that I assume is transmitted from the RP gears.

I think I've typically seen the 997 shifter assembly go for $150. For the 997 SSK I'd imagine you can get a little more money out of it. Suncoast is selling them for $430 new. I guess you can try $300 and see if you get any hits.

Greg,

The 997 Short Shift Kit should fit your 996.

I want to buy this so bad! I promised my wife no "car gizmos" until May.

This is THE shifter for any version 996. It's $130 less than new from Suncoast, which I consider a good deal.
