100plus, your car looks great!!! Thanks for the pics.

Please post your impressions of the X74 suspension after you have driven on it for awhile.

I'm considering going with the RoW M030 on my 2000 C2 when the weather gets warmer here. Now I may have to also consider the X74, although I think it would be too low for my driveway.

Was the X74 suspension an option on the 2000 Carrera or was it only an option on later model 996s?

Hi there! So far so good with the suspension. I wa actually previously running on ROW M030 ... HAHA. It is actually a very big difference with the ride quality. I must say it takes and sticks to the road MUCH better. I also thought it might be too low for the roads here in singapore BUT fortunately the ride height is not a problem! It is just great imust say. I would suggest just getting the X74 kit and be done with it. It is really some good Sh**t for the money spent. It comes with new sways as well.

I think the X74 was only offered in Europe at the time. Hands down the best Pcar suspension. Body sway is non-existent in the twisties. The alignment that comes with it makes driving so more precise. Also the engine protection plate is a must. I have yet to bottom out but its good insurance.

give your mufflers some time to heat cycle and build some soot up in them, the pitch will be different once that happens and the drone might go away.

another ROW convert to the X74

Now you see why we always say "if your going to spend the money and time to swap to ROW... just go to X73/74 and skip the wasted step

looks sweet

when's your first track day

Dang it guys. I am on the fence among X74, Row030 and Bilstein PSS10s. I currently have the US M030. I'm mainly concerned X74 may be too low and possibly too harsh as a daily driver.

In my opinion i didnt like the ROW M030 as compared to the X74. X74 is more precise and it really sticks your car to the road. I am a daily driver as well and it is just fine for daily driving. If you could afford Pss10s then go for that if not get X74. Dont bother about ROW M030.

Cheers

I would call Sunset in Portland (Luke or Jeff in Parts) and Suncoast in your neck of the woods and compare prices from both.

I really think the X74 will be too low for me given my steep driveway and the high curb cuts I seem to frequent. In fact, just last week I scraped the underside of the car entering a driveway and I am currently running the stock suspension. Luckily the scrape occured just behind the painted bumper cover.

I do a couple of DEs and a couple of AXs per year and am more than ready to ditch the stock suspension for something a little lower and more firm. However, I still drive the car a few times a week on the street so I cannot go too low. I am not worried about the ride quality, my main concern is simply ride hight.

I'm telling you guys...the X74 is the cat's ***. Is it low? Well yeh. That is part of the reason the handling is SOOOOO much better. I have learned to really pay attention to inclined driveways, parking lots.....and just pay attention to where I'm going in general. The reason why I scrape the front bumper is because of the splitter. If I didn't have the splitter I would most likely never scrape. Got mine from Gert as well. Just checked his site and the USD / Euro conversion (including shipping) is $2069. Don't think you will find it any cheaper.

Ok; I'm leaning toward x74.

You mentioned:

I think there is a VAT charge of 21% on top of this, right? With VAT, the price is close to PSS10s.
