Question ZF Tiptronic shift programs

I drive in manual mode as much as possible, but in heavy commuter traffic, I leave it in drive. Is there a way to keep the Tip in the SC5 program (most aggressive of the shift programs on the all the time? Streather's great book taught me that I can blip the throttle on start-up to activate the SC5 program, but it reverts back after a while...

p. 250, Streather, "Whenever the 996 is started, the TCU has the shift characteristics of SC 1. An active gearshift skip into SC 5 can be a achieved, irrespective of shift characteristics, by quickly opening the throttle. If the throttle is then closed by more than 25%. the previous shift characteristics are resumed."

It seems logical that there should be a way to set the Tip so that when it is in Drive, it utilizes SC5 all the time.

Thoughts?

I would like to know that too... But the big question, why did they not bother with a "S" button.....?

I had a Tip before but don't know how either to make it full time as the lowest map is ridiculous. Getting to 5th gear by 35 MPH is crazy.

I remember your pain.....

Find an EE friend and have he/she remap the computer.
