Default Traction control, limited slip?

I was out in the rain today for the first time, trying to get the feel on wet roads.

What I found is that I would not get smooth wheel spin, if I pushed hard in a straight line till I spun I would get wheel hop on both rear wheels, is this normal?

I didn't try too hard in corners but was impressed with how planed this thing is, even compared to my S4.

Most probably wasn't wheel hop you felt but the REAR brakes being used as virtual LSD and/or TC.

Hmmm....I have experienced this feeling as well and also thought it was wheel hop. The PSM was "on" at the time so I assume that if it were "off" I would have just had wheelspin, right?

With PSM off, I get the wheel hop in the wet under WOT. If we had LSDs, I believe this would not happen.

I had wheel hop even with LSD and with PSM off...but I was also missing a couple of teeth on the pressure plate. Only time I've gotten smooth wheelspin was in a bit of fine gravel at an autocross.

I think it's just inherent to the design of the car with all the weight on the back.

LSD doesn't prevent wheel hop. I'm not sure that traction bars will make the right impression, though. The softer the tire compound & the better the tread -- the harder it is to get smooth wheel spin. Just add cheap, hard tires to your car -- that's the ticket.

I don't have PSM but the manual hints at some sort of traction control even with PSM off. Sounds normal though.

Thanks
Duane
