Default Making some mods -- now with cup holder

Time to get some weight off the Spec996 and make a few upgrades. Removed the dash, took out the heater box, and started clipping wires. Rear window is out and we will be putting in a lexan window next weekend. Every piece of excess metal is being removed, with the objective of losing at least 100lbs. We're having some fun now!

Ha! There's been no slope for me for a while now. It's a total free fall.

Hi, my name is Mike, and I have a racing problem.

Finally got the lexan rear window finished. dZus fasteners for easy access to the rear of the car, with some straps and bolts for backup.

Yup. That's one of the reasons I thought it would be fun to start this thread.

I'm not planning to do the sunroof delete. I'll have no problem making minimum weight without doing that, and the cost is pretty high once you figure in the paint. True, it would help lower the center of gravity, but I'm not going to worry about it for now. Right now the sunroof is held in by some brackets my cage guy built.

I've not yet weighed the car with the mods, but prior to this go-round, the car was right around 2700 lbs dry with no passenger seat. I've taken out over 100lbs of junk, so I'm somewhere south of 2625 lbs with the tank on empty and the passenger seat still in the car. Once we get it all done, I'll get it on scales, and then start adding ballast. One of my objectives is to get the weight down far enough so that I can race with the passenger seat in the car. That helps balance it left to right, and makes it easier for me to instruct and race in the same car.
