It would help if you posted where you live. These tools are spread all over the US and Canada.

If you read the latest threads on the LNE bearing they seem to be going in the direction that the replacement should be a maintenance item, to be done with each clutch change (40,000-50,000 miles?). So having a tool in the tool chest might be helpful.

I agree, $70 gets knocked down pretty quick with shipping costs on loaners. But if you're in the same town....

I was thinking more along the lines of recycle -not a free borrow .If the tool is a one shot then it might make sense for someone to recover some of their money .Shipping costs to the buyer are essentially the same from LNE or a third party .I live in Southeastern Pennsylvania .The direction this is heading makes me think it was a bad idea

We're known for bad ideas...... I thought the same way you did then popped for the tool.

Not a bad idea to borrow one at all, just thinking that these may become a maintenance tool. I know one member here lent me his cam timing tool, I covered the shipping both ways (and he trusted me, no deposit). Just today I loaned my brake bleeder cap and some wrenches to another local owner. If I had one I would be happy to lend it out, but think I would want it back for the tool box.

Not sure how to handle this .Since Ride 123 responded first ,common courtesy for me to respond .Shark Attack's offer is very good -since I seriously doubt I would keep the car thru a second IMS bearing .
How about I defer to Ride 123 ?
