Would others know the difference? Maybe, Maybe not. Does it look dramatically improved with the full kit instead of a partial kit, absolutely!
You seem to be unconcerned with safety (I would argue that you should be) and only concerned about aesthetics, so if you only care about looks, then why go half-assed and not do the less expensive bits that do add to the appearance of the car? The front bumper and side skirts to add to the car, so you would be losing out by not doing them.
I initially only installed the front bumper and side skirts to my car - it looked vastly improved, but eventually decided that the car needed the wing to complete the look - that took the appearance to another level.
I tend to agree with the comment that adding the wing alone is like a kitted out Honda - (poor) style over substance and often all noise with little performance. IMHO by installing the wing alone you would have a car that is less stable at high speed (negating the reason you bought the car in the first place) and looks odd to anyone that knows Porsches.

Buying the entire kit from Porsche and having it painted by a Porsche body shop I was quoted as around $11K. In the end my entire kit was around $5K painted and installed.
If you're patient, keep your eye out for parts and do the install yourself, then you can do it pretty economically.

I bet if you looked long enough you could buy it all for under 1500.00, then another 700 - 1000 to paint off the car, then you install....
But I have noticed these guys with factory taco wings for sale seem to think they are made of gold.

As for the Taco Wing, I finally found and OEM one so my Adjustable Rep is for sale. Compared it side by side and they look nearly identical, except "Made In France" engraving.
