anyone know if there is a way to get to the engine compartment from inside the car... i'm trying to run wire from the engine compartment into the cabin.. I'll be installing a rear camera for my navigation system so i can see when backing up... went under the car and doesn't seem to be any place... any help would be great thanks...

There is a relay box under the carpet behind the back seats on the driver side for the engine compartment fan and such. Maybe you can start looking there and follow the wires..

IIRC, I cut a slit in one of the grommets on the fire wall.

The 996 is probably one of the hardest cars to find places to route wires through the firewalls.

There are definitely places where the wiring harness' go through. I know where they are in a Cab, not sure it a coupe. I ran wires from the cabin to the engine compartment for my PSE by following existing wires.

Yes there are, you will have to remove the rear top self carpet and go from there.

there are 2 grommets you can slit.... the other is the opposite side of where mother shows. def have to remove carpet.
