Price Check 03 x50 PCCB 50K
Hi I already posted this on the 996 turbo board but as this forum get more action.....
A friend is looking to sell or trade in his Midnight blue 2003 Turbo Coupe, X50, w/ PCCB, 50,000 miles, and blk interior. Well kept, but no garage queen. Would appreciate your input on street value and/or porsche/ferrari trade in (he's thinking a 612 or 997.2 turbo). He asked me what I thought it was worth, but as I'm a 993 guy I said let me talk w/ the experts.....Thoughts??
Thanks,
Marco

I'm getting ready to go on a road trip with a longtime Rennlist member and a good friend of mine to pick up a 2003 x50 car with 22k miles, for about the same price. I consider that to be an outstanding deal however, and would imagine $50k for a 50k mile x50 car to be about right, and a pretty good deal if the car's in good shape with no history/body work. Others' opinions may vary, good luck.

The retail range on this car is $41-$47k with 50k miles. PCCB is a + to some, a - to others, in general a wash. X50 is a plus and could be a tie breaker, but generally something most potential buyers will pay little if any more for on an 8 yo car.
The 6 TT market is at the mercy of buyers right not. There are a glut of cars and not much trading hands currently. Even seeing P-dealer CPO cars on ebay right now. Checked yesterday, 75 TTs listed from '01-04 on ebay, 1 sold, no reserve just over $30K, from a completed listings search.
Because a car is near mint, nice color, very fairly priced, is no guarantee that it will even sell. The ones that sell, are the very special ones and usually those priced very attractively.

Maybe I'm a bit more out of touch than I thought, but if I were in the market (and I may be when my C2 is sold), I'll be looking for an 02+ car with X50, and blue/gray is my first choice, manual transmission coupes only. I don't care about miles though, so I would probably save a bit of money there. Anyway, I would've thought $50k is within reason for that car if it's got a clean history.

The car that the OP is talking about is easily worth between high 40's to low 50s. The nice ones are NOT being sold at rock bottom prices as you would want us to believe.
If you want to steal one from somebody you better be very patient. If you are intent on spending in the 30's then be prepared to get and 01 that was beat to **** with high miles. Sure, there are a few "deals" out there but these are not selling at firesale prices nor are there a glut of them for sale.
And no, the market is not at the mercy of buyers and no, Porsche owners do not equate "years old" with how much the car is worth.
Geez, where do you come up with this crap.
....check out the PCNA website. There are only 24 coupes available nationwide (not all would be considered prime examples mind you) and the pricing for these 01-04's ranges from mid 40's (2001's) to mid 60's (2004's).

Dell,
I would have to agree. An '03 should carry into the higher 40's or more depending upon condition. I found several '01's that were selling in the mid to upper 30's however a lot of them had baggage.
