hmmm... that'd be nice. I remember being a teenager and reading the car mags at the time... wanted one then too! Defiantly ahead of it's time.

At one time I did not think you could bring them into the US legally.

you can but can't legally drive it on US roads. I remember reading Microsoft's Bill Gates and partner Paul Allen each buying one.

This one was on display at a Porsche dealer in Boston. Forget the name of the dealership.

Agreed. It was such an important car.

I was in the car biz when it was introduced, and one forgotten aspect of the story was the statement the 959 made to Porsche's competition. It was a real intimidation tactic, and led directly to the F40, for example. Enzo was contemptuous of the 959's advanced technology that he thought the F40, rope door handles and all, was an appropriate upthrust middle finger in the direction of Stuttgart.

It was a pretty neat era.

The 959 was the Carrera GT of it's time... or perhaps the Carrera GT is the 959 of its time. Either way, the 959 was ahead of its time and you can see that technology incorporated in modern Porsches.
