Hmmm. I'm assuming you're talking about a direct link between oil and whirring sound. Could you please explain it in a little more detail?

Mine did it for a while and I'll try listening today to see if it still does it. Doesn't seem to do it anymore but I might be used to it. Sure sounds like power steering pump but eh.

I'm back and I think the sound has gone away. It could be motormount oriented. I've been meaning to replace mine and the trans mount since I'm getting annoyed by the thumps when getting on it.

Try getting on it and see if you hear a thump sort of sound like the engine or trans is twisting and hitting something. If you do hear a thump I'd say its the mounts.

Do motor mounts always leak when they're shot? We had the car on the lift and didn't notice anything leaking, though we didn't specifically look at the motor mounts.
The motor mounts do not ALWAYS leak when bad, although that is when they are really shot completely. Look at the mount from the bottom and see if the bolt/stud looks centered in the mount. Also look at the rubber center piece and see if one (probably rt side) is hanging down lower than the left side mount. You can also take a large prybar and check for movement, but knowing what excessive movement is comes after checking known good and bad ones.
