Default Nylon Lug Socket and Torque

I picked up a lug nut socket from vertex with the nylon insert and was wondering if people trust the torque readings using this socket. Is the insert strong enough not too flex while using a torque wrench? Thanks

I would think yes. I bought a 'soft' socket a few years back. Finally gave out this year and scared me at the same time. The insert is held in place with a pin to the body of the socket. I tried to remove my lugs (last one on the wheel) and I could not get it off. I thought I was twisting the threaded stud off the hub. After a while of panic and OH $HIT's I realized the pin within the socket had broke and the outer socket was spinning on the inner socket. Threw it out and got me a one piece socket now.

The torque reading will still be accurate even if then nylon flexs. As long as you don't have slipping between the insert and bolt you're good.
