It cranks and fires up roughly for a second or so and stalls. any clues? fuel pump, MAF, coils? It ran very well on the way to do errands. Got back on car after 5 minute stop and wouldn't fire up as described. on flatbed to dealer
Just happened to me. Search my threads to see my description to see if they match your symptoms. It was the fuel pump fixed under CPO. 1.4 hours labor.
dealer called and can't reproduce! WTF. could fuel relay be bad?
Sure. My info is a fuel pump either works or it doesn't. OTOH a relay can become intermittently bad. I was advised to tap on the fuel relay in attempt to resurrect it or even remove it then plug it back in again. Tried this to no avail.
Porsche tech loaned me a fuel relay bypass plug to force fuel pump on and fuel pump did not come on so in my car's case it was a fuel pump. (Confirmed by tech at the service department.)
I replaced the relay anyway and carry the old one as a spare.
The relay is not much money, though I forget how much it costs. You might consider replacing it just on general principles -- save the old one -- and if no more no start symptom, result!
If the no start symptom reappears....at least give the "new" relay a tap or two just in case the new flaky. Sometimes it happens.
If that doesn't fix the no start problem...well, let's fall off that bridge when we come to it.
I wonder if a short trip with water in the exhaust would fog the O2 sensors while parked hot and give a guy a hard time. Wash the car lately and park it till your errands?

The sensors after the cats are only used to check the condition/effectiveness of the emissions system. So you'd have to get water past the cats for this to be a potential issue and then have it not immediately burn off from the hot exhaust coming in contact with it.
I'm guessing bad gas but without more information it's only a guess.
I don't think it was bad gasoline because I filled it on Saturday and ran normal till on reserve yesterday as described. AAA added 2 gallons just in case, cause it was acting like it was out of gas. It would turn, and fire, cough, and stall. Even after the 2 gallons, it wouldn't stay on either. Dealer still has it and they are trying to reproduce. They were contemplating changing the fuel relay. I do remember hearing the pump or pumps (if that what that sound is) doing their normal pre-start noise once you turn the ignition key to the first position. (does it have 1 or 2 pumps?). and after repeated attempts at starting, I opened the rear trunk and could smell gas, like it was flooded from the repeated attempts, I guess. Anyways, thanks to everyone for chiming in on my issue.
