Hi, let me introduce my self as a new member of Porsche 996 family, purchased my first Porsche last year after long period of searching, untill the dealer in Atlanta called me and told me “ the car that I wanted is in”, my son and I flew from Houston to Atlanta and straight to the dealer and indeed, the wait was over, there she was, A black 2002 Porsche Carrera 996.
Driving back to Katy (Texas) it was the most anticipated and exiting moment ever, no substitute, it was a dream come true. Now, here we are, a year later I apologize of being late with this introduction.
Got some pictures but cant post them please help.
Gerry

Welcome and +1 on the wheels. I have them on mine and love them, but they can be tough to keep clean.
Ed what is this REJEX of which you speak?
take time to apply a nice coat or two of REJEX to them about every 6 months

I'll be one of the few who suggests leaving the orange side markers alone. They look good with a dark color like yours.
Also, preservation and originality are important to many Porsche owners (like me!).
Congratulations, and good luck, Geowner.

Mostly Rejex can be found online and through pilot shops (real & online). Ed may know of some local brick & mortar places that carry it.
It's a liquid, similar to liquid wax that's applied to surfaces to minimize the dirt and bugs that would adhere. Leaves a shine. Some guys use it instead of wax on their cars. Supposedly designed for the leading edges of aircraft wings (piston powered aircraft are called "bug smashers" for good reason).
I usually get mine from Aircraft Spruce & Specialty out of CA when I'm getting other stuff.
Is it truely better than just keeping your wheels waxed? Maybe a little. But it's easy to apply and wipe to a luster. Works well. And because it was designed for aircraft, it reduces drag giving you 3-4mph to your car's top speed.

YUP - what James said...
the best thing about it is how easy it goes on and how easy it wipes clean...If you want to try some I will loan you a little
you will be sold! great stuff, cheap and amazing results with almost no effort (BTW works good on "leading edges" mirrors, front bumpers, ect...)
I bought mine online.. maybe $10-15??? cant remember, lasts a LONG time!
OH and if they have not been done in a long time, I know a way to get the inside clean really easilly too :P

You can post pictures as a non member. Use the "Manage Attachs" below the text input window. You are pretty limited on picture size as a non member. Then the total of all files uploaded is also limited to less than a member. In the user CP (control panel) section maybe at the bottom is a link to managing all the files you have uploaded ie deleting some to make more room.
