Default Time to Polish The Porsche - I think?!?!? Help??

I have used the Zaino Clay and multi step process. Going through these steps on all of my other cars resulted in an extremely smooth surface.

Not so on the Porsche. Not that it is like sand paper, just not a good as the other cars.

I am thinking that it needs a light polishing. Already have Menzerna polish, but wanted to make sure that I have the correct tools and product.

Menzerna - Super Intensive polish
Menzerna - Micro Polish

What would you guys use? What process?

What kind of buffer(s) do you have (or have access to)? Do you have any scratches you are trying to remove?

I just did a full exterior detail last week. Working for a few hours each day over a 4-day period, the process went like this:
  1. Wash/Dry
  2. Clay Bar - Mothers
  3. Tape off edges, molding etc... - 3m Automotive Detail Tape
  4. 1st step Polish - Menzerna SIP with Makita Rotary, Orange Lake County Pad (see buffing method below)
(note - I used 50/50 mix of Alcohol/Water to clean off polish residue after each section was polished)
  5. 2nd step Polish - Menzerna PO106FF with Flex Random Orbital, White Pad
    (see buffing method below)
(note - I used 50/50 mix of Alcohol/Water to clean off polish residue after each section was polished)
  6. Final cleaning of paint to remove all polish & tape residue - Zymol HD-Cleanse by hand
  7. Wax - Zymol Carbon by hand

I used this buffing method

a good random orbital - I have Griot's there are others....for me a finner polish and more work is better than a more aggressive polish. - remove all wax with Dawn dish soap first and rinse rinse rinse...

try searching over on Autopia.com too

I have a porter cable. Also thinking to start with the micro polish. What pad should I use?

No scratches to remove. Just want to smooth out the finish.

Just weigh polishing against the removal of some thickness of the clearcoat finish.

I'd do the wash/dry, clay bar then Micro polish with a black pad. Be sure to get all of the polish residue off using 50/50 alcohol/water mix then something like HD-Cleanse or Menzerna Top Inspection as a final cleaner. Then wax or sealant of choice.
