Shark, beige is not a high demand color, so I don't think your comparison is valid. Most people I know wouldn't consider that color, and blue is rather sought after on a 996.
Furthermore, go to cars.com or autotrader.com and you'll see that most 996s command significantly more than 16. I should know, I've bought 3 in the last 2 years, and am practically always looking...

is it
thats what i thought, i was lookin at an older model porsche with 100++ miles on it for $10,000, i talked to a porsche guy & he told me if you have to replace motor soon, then add probably another $15,000, then you have a $28,000 car, not a great deal anymore if you was just buyin it for the price (i'm referring to the car you was talkin about) now you have a 99' model 996 & $28 grand invested, even though you have a new motor, not such a great investment especially if your not that crazy about a 996 & you was buyin in for the price, when i looked at it that way, he was right, i would have had to much invested in a car that i didn't love, i was just gettin it because of the price.

Kyle,
When people shop for a car, they desire different things. In the case of the MK1 996, that may be aerokit, sport steering wheel, choice of wheels, LSD, leather dash, etc. and undoubtedly color.
When I was in the market for an MK1, I personally only shopped for silver or blue, and had to have LSD. It doesn't seem logical to suggest that colors have no impact on resale. There was a very clean, and low mile 996 turbo on eBay that didn't get over $30k for months if I remember correctly. I would've paid up to around $45k, but... it was aqua inside and outside... Even though you seem to like brown, I assume we have common ground in not wanting a car that looks like a giant smurf?
