Sometimes I forget
I took the car to my sisters pig roast this weekend.. It was a nice 800+/- mile drive.
No one really knows I have the car other than mom and dad that visited.. for the last 5 years I had a 928. So I thought.. no big deal.... Now my sister has never asked to drive any of the 928's.. But as soon as I pull in She's asking "can me and Sarah drive yoru car.. My sister is 50 and Sarah is her sons wife and is maybe 25. So I throwe her the key and off they go... For umm an hour.. ummm 2 hours...... so they return and she cant stop talking abotu the car. They live in the hills in berks county PA. Blah blah blah something about being on rails an s-turn and being faster than her hd sportser. Lots of twisties and hills, dips and just a really fun place to drive a 911. Then EVERYONE that attended the party asked as soon as they drive up "who's driving the porsche"
I sometimes forget how people view this car... But then again i was amoungst HD's and pick-up trucks...(im an old farm boy) So this I guess was a site to see... and must have stuck out like a sore thumb.
But man did I have fun with this car on the old stomping ground. Knowing the roads like the back of my hand.. WOW what a great drive i had back home.
And also for some reason I guess with the aero kit every one asks "Is that a turbo" No I dont lie.. I say no its not. But then i follow it up with the turbos are heavier and dont do as well in the twisties, tee hee..... (sorry t-guys I refuse to take a back seat)
So I had a pretty nice weekend...

I live in a small Indiana town. While waiting for my pizza at Domino's tonite, the kid behind the counter tells me that my car is the best looking car around. I take my car for granted at times but comments like that bring me back to Earth......and its a good thing.

I found the difference in perspective very interesting when I relocated from California to Indiana. In California my Boxster very rarely got a 2nd look. In Indiana it's treated as something special and gets more than its fair share of 2nd glances. My recently acquired C4s falls into an even higher level and receives numerous comments.
What's interesting is that I do take the cars a bit for granted, probably because of the extended stint in California where they aren't viewed as anything extra special except by other Porsche owners. In the end, they are just a car. But I wouldn't want to drive anything else unless really required to do so.

nice!.... I like the enthusiasm of non porschefiles. they could care less about round headlights. All they see is a sculpted work of art. Side by side they think that these cars are newer than 997 since they are so radically different.... glad you guys are enjoying your cars. I get looks and compliments all the time, yet when I tell them its is 10 years old.... their jaw drops.
